They will examine the person’s physical and psychological health and prescribe appropriate treatment. Some of the common medications that can be prescribed are antidepressants.

Depression is treatable. One of the best methods to prevent depression from worsening is to support a person. Family members and friends must reach out to a person who is depressed and give him or her reassurance.

Always remember that depression can only worsen a physical problem. The doctor may give the patient medicine in order to control the disease but it is important to have strong faith in the doctor so that he or she can help cure the depression disorder.
